APCAG was created in 2007, following the observations made by several stakeholders of the film distribution sector in Guadeloupe.

   The Association for the development of independent cinema in Guadeloupe aims to increase the selection of available film and to offer more diverse distribution channels for independent films particularly those from the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and the Americas.APCAG is also responsible for the distribution of festival programmes such as the Travelling Caribbean film festival and supports events like the Guadeloupe documentary film month.
