Anunciados los proyectos seleccionados para el primer Mercado de Cine Caribeño en el ttff
15 proyectos de largometraje procedentes de diez países han sido seleccionados para participar en la primera edición del Mercado de Cine Caribeño (CFM), que tendrá lugar durante la 10º edición del Festival de Cine de Trinidad y Tobago (ttff) que se celebrará en septiembre de este 2015.
El CFM ofrecerá a los 15 cineastas seleccionados la oportunidad de presentar sus proyectos en etapa de desarrollo y preproducción a 30 productores, agentes de venta, y fondos cinematográficos, con el objetivo de crear relaciones profesionales y alianzas estratégicas que conduzcan a la producción y distribución de los proyectos participantes.
Más de100 proyectos se presentaron a esta primera edición del CFM, de los cuales fueron escogidos 15, once proyectos de largometraje de ficción y cuatro documentales.
“Nos complace que muchos de los proyectos presentados son de participantes en los eventos del ttff, algunos de ellos han participado en el RBC Focus: Filmmakers’ Immersion, y otros de la iniciativa de formación del EAVE Producers, que tuvo lugar durante la edición 2014 del ttff,” declaró Emilie Upczak, directora artística del ttff.
Los proyectos seleccionados fueron adjudicados por el ttff, la Fundación Global para el Desarrollo y la Democracia de la República Dominicana, la Asociación para el Desarrollo del Arte y la Práctica Cinematográficas de Guadalupe, la Fundación del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de Cuba, y el Festival Internacional y Regional de Cine de Guadalupe.
El proyecto está cofinanciado por el programa ACP Culturas (Del Grupo de Estados de la ACP), con un fondo de la Unión Europea (Fondo de Desarrollo Europeo).
El CFM tendrá lugar entre el 24 y el 27 Septiembre en el Hotel Hyatt Regency de Puerto España, Trinidad Tobago. El ttff/15, por su parte, se celebrará del 15 al 29 de Septiembre.

Participating projects announced for first Caribbean Film Mart
Fifteen feature-film projects from ten countries will participate in the inaugural Caribbean Film Mart (CFM), taking place at the 2015 trinidad+tobago film festival (ttff) in September, it was announced today.
The CFM will give the 15 selected filmmakers with Caribbean films in development and pre-production the opportunity to meet with 30 international film producers, sales agents and film funds, with the aim of creating professional relationships and partnerships that will enable the production and distribution of the participating projects.
Over 100 projects were submitted to the CFM, from which the participating 15 were chosen. Eleven are fiction projects, while four are documentaries.
“We are pleased that a number of the projects are from ttff alumni, some of whom have gone through our RBC Focus: Filmmakers’ Immersion, and others the EAVE Producers’ training initiative which took place at ttff/14,” said Emilie Upczak, ttff Creative Director.
The selected projects were adjudicated by the ttff, the Global Foundation of Democracy and Development from the Dominican Republic, the Association for the Development of Art Cinema and Practice from Guadeloupe, the Foundation of New Latin American Cinema in Cuba, and the Regional and International Festival of Cinema of Guadeloupe.
The project is co-financed by the ACP Cultures+ Programme (ACP Group of States), funded by the European Union (European Development Fund), and implemented by the ACP Group of States.
The CFM will be held from 24-27 September at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The ttff/15 takes place from 15-29 September.
